Our giving
We donate a proportion of our profits and provide pro bono support to organisations creating better opportunities and outcomes for women and communities.
Over the years, we have supported initiatives addressing disadvantage, domestic and family violence, housing insecurity, education, employment and leadership.
Our partnership with Sydney Women’s Fund
Iceni has supported Sydney Women's Fund since 2015, contributing to initiatives that improve the lives of women and families experiencing disadvantage across Sydney.
Our support has included financial contributions as well as pro bono consulting, allowing us to contribute both funding and our professional skills where they can be useful.
The long-term nature of this relationship is important to us. We believe sustained support can have greater impact than one-off contributions and gives us the opportunity to better understand the organisations and communities our giving supports.
Women we’ve helped
Mums seeking sanctuary
Every woman who is pregnant or parenting a new baby should be surrounded by the support she needs. Karinya House supports women who are pregnant or parenting to make the best possible choices in their lives as they navigate building a future for themselves.
It takes a village, as they say, and in June 2022 we were proud to help support the women in our community who were at a
critical time in their lives.
Indigenous women in leadership
CareerTrackers is a national purpose-driven organisation that supports pre-professional Indigenous university students and links them with employers to participate in paid multi-year internships.
In FY21, we supported the CareerTrackers Women’s Mentoring Program, a 12-month leadership program that uses the power of senior female-to-female mentorship, leadership training and a supportive community to accelerate career development.
Women experiencing domestic violence
Orana NSW provides support to the Sutherland Shire community, offering a broad range of services, one of which is domestic and family violence support.
In FY20, we funded the engagement of a domestic violence caseworker to Orana’s Safety and Healing Program, which delivers case management and counselling to women experiencing domestic and family violence. With our help Orana engaged a case worker who had worked previously with NSW Police, bringing fresh insight for women in navigating their safety with authorities.
Older women in social housing
Older women are a significant group having trouble with meeting their housing needs - a growing problem post-pandemic. The Women’s Housing Company has a particular focus on older women, including housing that is targeted at women aged 55 years and over.
In FY20 we delivered a pro-bono community engagement strategy as part of Stage 1 of the Women Staying Well in Social Housing program.
Women seeking refuge
Lou’s Place is a unique, community-based refuge for women in crisis, feeling isolated or needing support. Most of the women who visit Lou’s Place have experienced multiple traumas in their lives and the majority are facing issues of homelessness, domestic violence, mental health or addiction.
In FY17 we delivered a pro-bono strategic analysis for their expansion into Moss Vale.
Sharing the value we create
Our philanthropy is part of a broader commitment to ensuring the value created through our business extends beyond Iceni and our clients.
By choosing work that we believe contributes positively to society, and sharing some of the financial value generated by that work, we aim to make a contribution both through the work we do and because of the work we do.
