Supporting gender equality and impact

Dec102020

Iceni’s passion for gender equality and enabling women to reach their full potential – professionally and personally – sits at the core of our business. We strive to work with clients to deliver public good outcomes and champion diversity in the workplace, including women’s workforce participation.

That is why we established the Iceni Sub-Fund of the Sydney Women’s Fund, which aligns closely with our own values, including:

  • Gender equality in the workplace and community
  • Full access to employment opportunities and choice being a reality for women
  • Gender-inclusive leadership where women are respected for their contributions

If these points resonate, please donate to the Iceni Sub-Fund and directly back gender equality.

How is the Iceni Sub-Fund used by the Sydney Women’s Fund?

Iceni is proud of our support including:

Asylum Seeker Sri Lankan Tamil Women’s Community and Clinical Based Support Group

The support group was set up to assist Sri Lankan Tamil refugee female survivors of torture or trauma to settle into Australia. The group helps participants overcome their emotional, psychological and physical difficulties, and connect with others in similar situations.

Iceni’s support to the group provided participants with the opportunity to learn English language skills, self-care strategies, develop independence and improve their general well-being. We also contributed to access to childcare while the women undertook short TAFE NSW classes and courses.

“We appreciate your support and would like to convey our gratitude. We could not have done the course without your help and support. Thank you very much” – Program participant

Women’s Housing Company Women Staying Well Hub – Woolloomooloo

This project brings together a community of older women living in social housing locally. Through a range of co-designed events and activities, the hub improves community cohesion and reduces social isolation for female participants. Over 90 per cent of participants agree the Women’s Housing Company has helped them with their health and wellbeing.

Indigenous Women’s Career Mentoring Program with CareerTrackers

In 2020, Iceni partnered with CareerTrackers and Sydney Women’s Fund to launch a new pilot program to support indigenous women’s career mentoring with the goal to accelerate the careers of 20 Indigenous women through mentoring and connections to  industry leaders and professional networks. For many of the participants, they are the first in their family to graduate from university and work in the private sector.

Join us and donate now!

We look forward to making further positive contributions to the advancement of women through further initiatives through the Iceni Sub-Fund of the Sydney Women’s Fund. We invite you to help us by donating now to the Iceni Fund.
